Here is a few more recent (Post 1950) U.S. Bayonets. In the mix there is a real nice experimental knife, I'll let you figure it out-SDH

Looks like a real nice dark park Case M4 with a correct M8A1 type 3 scabbard. A real keeper in my book-SDH

does it have the DOD mark? Eagle with stars in a box? That would indicate a post 1954 re-build.SDH

no eagle at all.
there's an O with the flame on top stamped on the guard(grip side), an S with a P under stamped on the pommel.U.S.M4 CASE on the guard(blade side).

Just for the record, the bright blade knife has no bayonet attachment and brite blade. This knife was a proto-type, 1960's vintage, very few out and about-SDH

nice array of bayos , great photos ,
you have some very fine examples in your collection , i for one would enjoy it if you would list details for each piece ,
i only collect one for each of my rifles[while having an example of each if there are more than one for a rifle like the M1garand]and ive not looked for exceptional pieces in general ,

Were staying in the 20th century for the most part, even adding extinct commercial knives just to keep things moving along. Its almost as bad as my compulsion for Milsurp guns, but, thats a whole different story, I can't seem to get my partner in crime interested for the time being. I'm afraid he is missing out on a good investment thats fun to play with. Ever try to play with a bill hook?-SDH
I like the early thick butt kabar you threw in there

My interest for several years has been with the Garand and the bayonets produced by Wilde Tool --
