We all use various bulletin board systems around the Internet and sometimes we find they operate differently as to how posts are displayed.
Some boards display their posts with all of the membership information in a bar to the left of the post content, while others prefer to display that same information on top of each post. Unfortunately, the popular BBS software that we and many other sites use, only permits that setting to be the SAME for everyone.
MILSURPS.COM is pleased to announce the addition of new optional "Post Display Format", that can be used to personally customize the viewing of posts in either vertical mode, or horizontal mode.
For example:
This first screen shot demonstrates the traditional vertical mode used as a default on MILSURPS.COM, as well as other bulletin boards such as CGN (Canada GunNutz). Notice that your username and other information is displayed in a vertical bar down the left side.

Now, by selecting the drop down box under the heading titled Thread Tools, you can click on the new item titled Horizontal Postbit.

When you do that, your post display of posts within threads will switch to horizontal mode. Notice now that your username and other information is displayed in a horizontal fashion across the top of each post, leaving more room for the content of the post itself to display.

You may switch back and forth as a personal preference anytime you wish. Your personal choice of vertical or horizontal display modes acts independently of the system default setting, which is vertical. You may also set your choice of display modes in your User Control Panel (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/usercp.php) under the Edit Options function.

NOTE: On some systems with Microsoft's Internet Explorer, after you click on images to ENLARGE them, you may find they automatically size smaller in your browser's window. The auto sizing is your browser's way of keeping images entirely within the screen size you have set.
If this happens, move your mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the pic and hold it there. You will see a small box open up with four arrows point outwards and it will say "Expand to Regular Size". Click this box and the pic will open up to it's original FULL size.
Enjoy !!
