That is INSANE. You could buy the coveted Walters reference on 1911's for that much, and it's been out of print for decades...

Bought my copy last week for $80 at the Calgary gun show. $675 is a bit steep, even for me, and I have paid way too much for things I want.

Of course, even when the next edition comes out, you will still require this edition as well. I know when the new Bren Saga came out, the old one had sections which were not comtained in the new one.
