Erma DSM 34 rifle . . . .

Just picked up this today.

I have Lud Olson's book and the DSM 34 he has pictured (page 300) is very much like mine, except---

Mine has provision for a bayonet (has the "H" band also).

Rifle in about 95% condition, 100% configuration.

Bore about NEW!

Will wring her out as soon as the sun shines again!!

Are you sure it's a DSM34? Erma made several 22's before the war. Some intended for sales to Para-Military groups. Serial number range for Erma DSM34's is 36 [known lowest] to 12482 [known highest]. It should say Deutsches Sportmodell on the barrel or action. Most of the DSM 34's have a stacking/fake cleaning rod. As in the second from the top.

Yep . . . .it is definitely a Erma-built, DSM 34.
It states "Deutches Modell" on the right-rear of the receiver, just ahead of the bolt handle, above the wood line.
It's serial number is 7409.
As I stated, it's identical to the one Lud has pictured on page 300, except it's fitted with the "H"-band and bayonet lug. --Jim

This doesn't sound like a true DSM 34 as it doesn't have the Sport nomenclature as do all the other makes of DSM 34. It then sounds like it is not a modified DSM 34 but an Erma model rifle. Other firms also built versions of K98k lookalikes Like Walther, Paatz,GECO and Simson/BSW. There were a couple of air rifles like the Haenel 33 and Mars 115 that looked like the K98k. I have an incomplete Walther Sportmodell and a Mars 115 in my collection.
Post some pics of the action if you can. I would like to compare it to my two Mauser and one GECO DSM 34's. Or send a pic to n64atlas@embarqmail.com
