This one looks promising but I'm not a fan of Quentin Tarentino,mainly because he often injects to much "modern" crap into his movies,like ghetto slang that was'nt used during the period,hi volume no reload needed weapons,those awesome sparking bullets etc. Hopefully this one won't be to "Hollywoody".
What do you all think? Seen the previews at the cinema several times now,looks good so far.

Should be interesting. I've been looking forward to it since I first read about it several months ago. I saw a poster for it up at the theater when I went to see Public Enemies last week.

Watch the trailer again and see the guy running down the hall firing a belt fed weapon while it is held under his right arm and he holds the belt with his left hand. How do you do that?? :dunno:

He's using a sling to add a bit of legitimacy. I also noticed the Lt. is wearing 1st SSF insignia on his shoulder.

Don't forget the Marine that made a shoulder fired .50 cal he put together from a Wildcat .50, on Guadicanal. It turned the tide in more than one battle, from the stories I've read.

The weapon you are referring to was a .30 cal air cooled belt feed with a Garand stock and cut down barrel nick-named the (stinger). It was made by Tony Stein. He was killed by a sniper on Iwo March 1 1945. He also was a Medal of Honor winner for engagements where he used the weapon.There is a good article in American Rifleman on him and the weapon. I'm going to build a clone of this weapon.
