This thread is a regular feature of The Members Showcase (http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=184), designed for members to display pictures of their purchases made during the current month.

You can link directly to your pics at your own personal off-site web storage space, however, remember that MILSURPS.COM provides all Registered Members the ability to upload directly and store up to 2 Megabytes of personal pics (10 pics per post), which are automatically displayed as thumbnails in your posts. If you are a Contributing Member (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=276), then the amount of storage space is UNLIMITED. Refer to the picture photo montage below, which demonstrates how pics uploaded to MILSURPS.COM are displayed at the bottom of an individual post.

If you're not sure how to upload or handle pics, then read the thread titled How do I upload or post images on MILSURPS.COM? (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=242)

Show us all what great deals you made this month !!! :dancingbanana:

Badger

Here's a June purchase out of Switzer's recent auction ... :)

1939 K98k Code 42 (Oberndorf) all matching (estate vet bring back?), complete with bayonet/scabbard and cleaning kit. I'll get a complete and proper photo montage done for the Milsurp Knowledge Library when I get some time.

Badger

Beautiful K98k! That tiger striped walnut lumber is gorgeous too! AND the stock WaA's are still plainly visible when you play with the brightness setting on that photo, which means it's not been sanded.

I can't wait for you to find out if the stock is stamped matching under the butt, in the bbl chanel and under the handguard too, though I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Wonder if it's duffel cut? Certainly LOOKS like a vet return from the pics. I should have bid on it, though I know you'd have outspent me - lol.

PS: So far this month, I've picked up a righteous 1939 Wehrmacht mess kit, a matching Yugo refurb 1939 Sauer K98, and a Yugo M48. Also, a nice original clo41 K98k sling and a ww2 german canteen that I haven't seen yet, so not sure how it'll turn out.

I also snagged a bunch of hard to locate parts to fix some issues with my late-war K98k RC, such as proper un-numbered swp45 cocking piece, bolt shroud, safety, TWO stamped trigger guards (a qnv and a byf - either would be correct), un-numbered WaA214 stamped floorplate, stamped follower, swp45 kriegsmarine stock set, TWO kriegsmodel bolt bodies with round vent holes (one with and one without guide rib - not sure which I'll use) and even the proper un-numbered rear sight assembly. Only thing I'm missing is the sheet metal nose cap, but I'm working on that... FWIW, the only parts that are typically serialized on a late swp45 like mine are the bolt body and receiver, so the restoration will be really accurate :)

Stunning k98k Badger!!!

My may-june purchases have all been modern pistols, so no milsurp pictures these early summer months.

You know, it would be worth contacting Paul Switzer, and seeing how far the rifle could be traced. Perhaps it was from a vet's estate - or it could have been from a collection, or a dealer's stock. IF it could be traced to a vet, it might be possible to determine where the vet served.
