Hello all, now i have restored my last LE. It was in bad condition oil soaked stock , rust on the barrel and a shrinked wood . I cleaned the wood from the oil by spending it some time in a oven at 90°C and stripped it by sanding it from 100 grit up to 800 grit paper. Then add 4 layers of BLO and finish it with selfmade stock wax. The metalparts were bead blasted then blackend and for some of you a horror i finished it with suncorite.:yikes: Added a acryl bedding and ready. Hope that you`ll like it a bit. The scope is a Kahles 2.5x - 7x from 1945.

Looks like it has turned out well. I am currently helping a customer restore a inherited LE. All the metal matches but needs to be refinished. I am assisting with technical info ( how to ) and things beyond what he is comfortable doing. I refinished the replacement stock for him a few weeks ago. His is a Lend Lease.

Thanks JBS, my one is a lend lease too. It is always a great fun to restore a rifle. My next is a Brazilian Mauser 1908 from a comrade.

I have a 1939 "27" K98K waiting in the shop for a stock repair, duffel bag cut. Hope to have it done by mid winter. Good luck on your Brazilian.

I like the S&K scope mount! Looks good on your fine-looking rifle... And I've heard it's pretty much the only really good no-gunsmith mount.

Hi Lou, thanks. I have the S&K scope mount since two years, i used it on my other LE and there was no wandering zero all the time. It`s easy to install and also easy to adjust.
