Savage Arms Model 58

I have a bolt action Savage Model 58 12 gauge cylinder bore with some markings that I think are Thai. It is also CAI import stamped. Some feedback has implied this might have been one of the CIDG force weapons in SEA. I do know the numbers translated to 902..the SN# on the receiver is 822.

I saw two racks of Japanese made Howa M1 carbines at the Knob Creek Shoot today. The same crest is on each carbine..Royal Thai Police.HOWA M1 Carbine (http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_howa2.html)
