You want Peter Laidler's book, "Telescope Sighting No.32", available from Brian at bdlltd.com. A word of advice; been there, done that and Brian had to bail me out in the end. It's a difficult job to do properly, even for a reasonably competent technical person.

You could also just simply look in the Knowledge Library. :)

With thanks to Advisory Panel member Peter Laidler, there's an article presented in two parts in the Technical Articles for Milsurp Collectors and Re-loaders (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25).

"Phoenix Rising from the Ashes" - Part 1 (by Peter Laidler) (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=5744)

This interesting article, the first in a continuing series and accompanied by a detailed photo montage will detail the complete rebuild of a totally unserviceable, scrap Watson No.32 Mk2 telescope.

Article Extract .....

This is the problem. In this case, a crushed ocular end that has taken the ocular lens cell with it.
The front shade has also been damaged. But at least the shade can be repaired!

BB, The value now-a-days of the No.32 takes it out of the hands of the un practiced. I'm a fairly good tinkerer, sometimes too good for my own sake so I sent mine to, Brian Dick.

I ought to say that there are repair options in the USA and Canada. I'll do a follow up article (almost ready..............) to part 1 as soon as I get a few moments to myself
