I bought this rifle five years ago for $125. It was unissued and in immaculate condition. What has suprised me about it, is that without any alterations or adjustments, it functions flawlessly and is very accurate on our 230 yard range.

I think they are one of the best milsurps avilable in the US market today.

I'd love one of those. They're selling for $400+ in Canada now, though.

You should do a photo montage for the Library.

Found one not too used that I bought just for the Icon applied to the buttstock. I'm not a huge SKS fan, but as long as they don't get those hideous aftermarket 30 rd mags there's nothing wrong with 'em.

I bought four of those when they first came to the states. Haven't shoot them in a while as ammo seems a little high. Sure not as cheap as it used to be.:runaway:

These rifles don't have chrome lined bores, so if you find one that didn't come straight from the importer/distributor channels beware of rusty bits. Bubba doesn't know about cleaning w/ hot water (or equivalent) after firing the formerly cheap surplus ammo!

Milled Reciever, Fine European Furniture & craftsmanship and larger & more robust than a Romanian or Chinese , yes these are one of the best bargans in Milsurp (My smithsonian condition Blond T-Series (1983) unissued/as new M59/66A1 was a new Rifle as far as I'm concerned and would cost much more to make today.

I got one in just as good a shape, but it cost me about too hundred bucks.

Of course, that was before gun grabbing Obama got elected, where the prices jumped to 300-500.

i really like these guns. yours is great!! i got a nice aim close out for 90 bucks. 2 actually. both are very good shooters, and accurate. my guess is the previous shooter was good at sighting in his rifle.
i still want one of those mint sks's tho. i got a customer a real nice one, only missing the cleang rod and sling, for 310 shipped. bonus, no cosmo!!!
thanks for the pics..

I just like the looks of the Yugo's and even though CA makes me remove the launcher tip and replace it with a brake it shoots fine. No sniper rifle but at 100 yards it is a blast.

Nice gun.

Mine was a bit ruffer on the stock and I had to do a lot a steaming and refinishing before it looks nearly as nice.

Bought a couple of these a couple years ago. $149.00. One is excellent the other unissued. Both shoot great and are just a hoot at the range. We have a slab of boiler plate hung at 200yds. (about 20x20 inches). I can ring it 10 for 10, standing, off hand pretty regularly with either rifle.

Ammo is more available now than a few months ago, hope it comes back down a bit. Not likely, but a guy can dream. These Yugo's are a tad heavy, but an awful lot of fun. Got some 154 gr. soft tip and whacked a deer with it, deers still dead, guess it worked ok.

This was my first milsurp purchase....I bought it a couple months ago and just my accessory pack in today. Definitely one of my favorite guns to shoot, although I havn't shot it out past about 40 yards yet......
I paid $270 for it at a local shop...It was marked used but I got it home and took it apart and there was still cosmo packed inside.....
I wish we could still find these for $125......

I purchased this rifle unissued and fabricated a steel scope mount for it.I also worked the trigger group over(removed 90% of the creep and reduced the pull weight to 4 lbs.).I've been loading 147 boattail bullets pulled from 7.62x54R ammo with 22.5 grns.of surplus Win.846 powder.I shoot at a 22" steel plate at 550 yards with no problem. The scope is a Leupold 2.5x8x42mm.
