View Full Version : 7.7 reloads with .308 bullets question
I have several boxes of of reloaded 7.7 rounds with .308 bullets and formed from 30-06 brass, I've had these for years and do remember shooting some back when but now I wonder is this an ok combo. to shoot again.
Should be no problem in shooting them but unless you have one with a tight bore, those .308 bullets are not going to perform very well.
The bores of Japanese rifles usually run large. Most of the grooves in 10 Japanese rifles I own measure a minimun of groove .314 and some up to .316. and bore .311-.312, Ray

No harm in shooting them, might be an accuracy problem. You will just have to shoot at a target and see. riceone

0.312" dia. bullets generally shoot OK but aren't spectacularly accurate 2-3" five shot groups best I've been able to get (4-5" not uncommon) at 100 yards even w/ scoped rifles
