hand stop

i have a built up dpms lower with a nm armalite stainless upper,

in the prone position seem to be having some left hand sling issues and i just might need a hand stop with the flat top

shot a match sun, first match shot a 188/10, second 182/7, third 174/5, fourth 168/3.. more that i shot, the more fidgety i got and comfort level went wrong way!!

after first match just could not get comfortable in my normal prone position, 2nd time shooting this rifle, adhesive just did not seem to solve the problem. need to work on position some, but can not let left hand go all way forward, because my neck just does not bend 90 degrees to get behind sight, am rather large and i need to compensate for this and get left arm in a good position and somehow relax it

suggestions

armalit has nothing to add or nothing to advise about a different fore end for the ar??

If its the Armalite fiberglass tube handguard, I've drilled them for attach points w/ metal backers that are tapped for whatever screw is required. Just watch out that your backer or screw doesn't touch the barrel when it is assembled. It also works well for 1913 rails and additional swivel/ bipod studs.

As jmoore said you may need to install a hand stop with backer in your fiber tube. I used a metal tube with a T slot. I also used a separate anchor for the sling, as to say I did not anchor my sling to the hand stop. I had the sling anchor all the way out at the end of the tube and my hand stop ended up being about midway. I ended up have to use a finger glove inside a palm pad glove because I ran a very tight sling and an arm cuff. Worked for me.
