Both are great pictures. In The 1st. one, the Marine is armed with a carbine with attached grenade launcher and a grenade on his pack. He also looks to have the handle of a pick-matock on the back of his pack. The pick-matock is in the canvas case under the pick. The walking Marines seem to be carrying alot of extra gear. The 2nd. pic speaks for itself......Frank

think that is a shotgun - that is why I put the second picture in - pretty sure there is a m1 in that one
