Has anyone ever seen one up close? I came across one the other day, but had been parkerized. It fell into the serial number range listed in Bruce Canfield's book for the shotguns (688xx, I believe) that were shipped to South Vietnam. There was evidence of a little pitting in the metal around the action bar. According to Canfield's book, "Most, if not all, were fitted with sling swivels." What was interesting was the sling swivels were different sizes. The front was smaller in size, and would only fit a 1" sling, while the rear swivel would fit a M1 web sling or a 1907 leather sling. Any ideas? Not sure Winchester would have built a shotgun with two different size swivels. But who knows, I don't think these were ever issued to American troops. Thanks!

I had one in the '70s but I think it was prison service or police department. I don't recall any martial marks on it.
