Try Marstar or your local gunsmith first. If you aren't sucessful, try the American sources. Particularly BDL Ltd., Numrich Arms, and Springfield Sporters.

Check Epps in Ontario as well.

If you can't find what your looking for in Canada try numerich/e-gunparts I have ordered from them several times and have not had any problems.

Their international order desk is 1 (845) 679-3520 and its Renada that answers that line.

Never heard of TradeEx before. Thanks, it's now bookmarked ;)

I'm really happy about this latest batch of Mosins at P&S and TradeEx - finally Decent mosins, priced competitively, without the ugly CAI electrostencil abortion.

Depends what they are sellign now. If Indian made 2A1 wood, it's not proper. I haven;t bought one there in about 4 years, so I can;t comment further. At the time it was RSAF Enfield unissued Walnut, but I imagine that wood is long gone...

I had the same experience as Claven, EFD marked walnut but that was about 3 years ago. The last I heard was that they were selling Indian manufactured wood. You could try calling them, they might be able to tell you what they have in stock.

OK,

the Indian 2A1 was a 1960's produced rifle in 7.62 Nato that outwardly resembles a No.1MkIII* Lee Enfield. There are differences in the stock though. The mag well inletting is different, it's not the right type of wood (mahogany as opposed to walnut or beech), there's a big ugly cross-bolt in it, often called an "Iahapore Screw", and it has a No.4Mk1 style tie plate at the back of the forestock. Many dealers will sell you a 2A1 stock as a No.1MkIII* b/c the 2A1 stocks are commonly available at the moment, but it's NOT the correct part.

RSAF = Royal Small Arms Factory.

Enfield = one of the RSAF's.
