Pictures of a happier time when Springfield Sporters was still a firearms wholesaler. These pics are from their 2001 catalogue. Alas, they no longer sell complete milsurps and are now only a parts supplier, much like Numrich Arms.
Yes, these are mostly all Mausers and Enfields stacked ot the rafters...

I visited the Century warehouse on a few occasions. Same sort of thing. Over 100 000 guns. In their showroom, they had samples of all the items in their catalogues, plus the ones that were unique or in too small a quantity to advertise. On one visit, I bought a Type A Mauser sporting rifle, and an Anschutz 54 Super Match, that had come in with the load of FN1A1 rifles from Bangladesh.

I bought my first ever mail order 6.5 from Century after a visit. $69.95. After I received it, I noticed a crack in the stock so they just sent me another N/C. Between them and Epps, I bought a lot of rifles in my early milsurp days. The last five or six rifles though came from Jean.

The good ole days. I imagine there are some incredible stocks of AKs somewhere out there. In places I heard of a plan where the locals could trade in an AK for a pick or shovel. I'd gladly give them $10 for everyone. Anyone else sometimes feel we live in the wrong part of the world these days?
Great pictures. Has anyone seen the old Bannerman's catalogs? He would buy up surplus from armys the world over and bought all spoils brought back from the Spanish/American war by the was department. He had his own island in NYs east river.

Uhh, not really, imagine how ****ty the conditions would have to be for the assault rifle/shovel swap to be instituted.
