    Breda Stocks

Did Breda make their own stocks new, or restamp existing USGI stocks?

I have an old stock with strong SA WWII characteristics--overall shape & beveled clip latch recess-- but has a very small BREDA stamp in the barrel channel.

Yes but I have not yet seen a SA stock stamped with the Breda in the channel. SA will have other markings and not be the European walnut. A SA stock should have some type of mark on the butt plate area flat where Breda will not. If not on the rear it will be on the front or the channel but not 100% of the time. Rick Bicon

Nope, no id marks on either end. Likely a Breda.
    Thanks!

Quick note: Breda had the barrel channel mark early and dropped it within the first two thousand stocks and moved it to the rear in the cupped cut out where the hinge for the butt plate sets. Also SILE made stocks for Beretta and some went to Breda.

I have three of the SILE marked stocks(in the buttplate recess) that were original Breda stocks, marked BMR and receiver s/n on the left side of the butt. They are a very well made stock. I believe the wood is European Walnut.
