    Hornady M1 Garand ammunition @ 1000 yd today

    Shot through Match M1icon (Roland Beaver/Gus Fisher)
    Fired 14 rds (left over from Perry)
    Target NRA 1000 yard
    Wife called splashes through spooting scope
    55-60 degrees
    wind 10-15 2 o'clock
    over cast (needed more light))
    Had 11 on paper Not bad for my eyes
    I used 36 up from my 200 zero to start
    4 min Windage
    Added 2 more up

    Also tried 168s through Match M14S
    They were sub sonic and only had one keyhole

    Reminds me of the days when CMPicon required us to shoot a service match to be able to order rifles from them. The longest distance was 600 yds and shot prone position. A lot of regulars were using ARs. Fortunately at that distance we were allowed a couple of spotter shots. Can't imagine 1000 yds. That is fantastic shooting. I do not hand load, but also have had excellent results with Hornady ammo.

    Nice Toyota truck BTW.

    Ernest "mag30th" kindly gave us permission to post his videos here. They show him engaging an 18" steel plate at 1000 yards with his M1D Garand sniper rifle. Some very nice shooting with some very old milsurps.

Use the PAUSE and other buttons at the bottom of the video window to adjust your personal viewing preferences.
