Can someone lend me some help. I've got an Enfield that wont extract a spent casing after being fired. I think I've lost a spring as the extractor just flops arround loose.
Can anyone tell me if that's all my problem is and where I can get a replacement from? Pictures for clarification.

You are missing the extractor spring. Installation can be a pain!

I second that, something is truly not right and disassembly will be a bit tricky. A bench block with screw down and mighty good pin punches may well be in order-HTH-SDH

bit of a pain re-installing the spring.
Pliers are a must and somethign to clamp up the bolt helps.
I don't have any spare extractor springs in my small stockpile of parts right now etiher

Are the extractor springs the same on all enfields or are their different springs depending on the model?

They are different. SMLE's (generally referenced as No1's) are quite different from the No4's. All No4's are the same.
I sent you a PM on this 10/01/07
