Pins Staked?

Are the pins that hold the hammer strut and barrel link in place staked or can they easily be removed? Thank you.

Normally they'll punch right out. In some cases they'll nearly fall out.

Thanks for the information. I hadn't tried to take them out yet and didn't want to mess with them if they were staked. I guess they come out like the rest - out toward the left? Or maybe it doesn't matter? Thanks again.

The barrel link pin is usually a little more co-operative than the hammer strut pin. Probably due to the fact they have had a little more 'practice'.

1911's were designed to be taken apart without any tools, so it should all come apart easily just by using it's own parts as tools. A .45 round can be used to remove the grip screws, the hammer strut comes in handy too.

The lanyard loop itself? Or the mainspring housing that the loop is in? The MSH pin will tap right out, that's necessary to remove the MSH to break down the whole gun. But the loop itself, I can't see why you'd want to take it out of the MSH.
