A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Once the pinion and windage knob are removed, just slip the aperture back into the base a little ways and push the part with the hole up and forward. The sight will pop right off. The rest of your parts are a mixture of different manufacturers. Common on rebuilds.

    In addition........

This should help. This assembly/disassembly guide at the CMPicon website shows how. You can follow their instructions or as Latigo 1 says, after removing the windage knob and elevation spindle pull the aperture up a little and apply upward pressure and the whole thing will pop out, or use the screwdriver method as show in the CMP disassembly photos.
