I saw a Garand today i. Its IHC receiver with Springfield parts. Light stock . Looks really nice. No IMP marks. The history is that it came form CMP years ago. On the receiver in electric pencil is SA 64. The whole gun looks like it did not see much use. What do we have here? ( I took pics , I will post them later). Thank You . I am really interested in it.

Seems like you have an IHC that was rebuilt/overhauled at Springfield Armory in 1964. May have a birch stock that was common in that rebuild period. It may also pre date CMP and have been a DCM sales rifle. I would keep the rifle as is, as it would be very costly to restore.
Nice arsenal rebuilds are becoming collectables in there own right and are a nice piece of history. Looking forward to some pictures.

I believe JOEW is correct on the rebuild data.

IIRC, the last time the CMP had enough IHC service grades to sell was about 3-4 years ago. They cost $750 and I was one of the lucky 75 to get one. It too was a like-new rebuild. What is he asking for it?
