    MRT Webb Sling

Would a cotton webb sling marked MRT April 1964 be correct for the M14icon? Thanks in advance for info.

What do you mean by "correct". When the first M14icon's were being issued the slings in the units dated back to WWII through circa 1954.

As more were made, plus the production of the M79 GL and the M60 MG, all which were being made around the same time, more sling contracts started. Web slings were being produced from 1963 through circa 1968. They were all in the same system and you could have gotten any one of them, depending upon the time of issue.

Your 1964 sling could be considered correct for anything that was issued after that date.

There is one exception, the Air Force Model 01, but that is a different story for a different time.
