I found this video very helpful in identifying my 1944 Long Branch Enfield No.4 MK1 rifle. It seems that it should be a Savage but I can't find any defined Savage Marks on it. It also has "England" Stamped on the breach. If you could shed some light on this, please do and if you might have some idea of it's value for insurance purposes I would be grateful. On to the next identification journey. Thanks again. cdminder.

If it's a Savage, it will be stamped U.S. Property on the left side of the receiver, on the top edge.

M47 Is BSA Co. = Birmingham Small Arms Company.
