    M-1A Scope Mount Problem

My Super Match is jamming because of the ejected round hitting the scope mount and going straight down into the following round which causes a jam. This happens about one in three shots which is quite annoying. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!

Check the ejector and spring. Try original GI if it isn't already.

Is it a Springfield Inc. mount? If so, THERE'S your problem. It can be fixed by judicious metal removal, mostly from the part that replaces your charger guide. On the last one I did, the cross screw hole just began to show before the brass quit ejecting improperly.

Couple or three photos of the "modded" Springfield Inc. rear mount attach point. Note that the cross screw hole is just starting to break through the "new" angled surface. The mount proper needed no modification for reliable function:

I have two M1Aicon's a polytech and a Fulton armory. I have the BAssett scope mounts on both rifles. they work just fine. I can't think of a better mount. They, stay on and if you take them off, they will hold the same line if you put it back on the same gun with the same ammo.

I'm partial to the ARMS 18 (just ordered another) mount for many uses. Also have the much modified Springfield Inc. mount, a Brookfield Precision (now Sadlak, if you want a new one- they're VERY good), and a crappy old AR-TEL unit that is about worn out. Not familiar w/ the Bassett- will investigate!
