    CMP Stripped Reciever

I have ordered one of the stripped M1icon Garand receivers that CMPicon just listed for sale. Does anyone have any information on them? i.e. are they servicable?
    Thanks John

I ordered one several years ago, & it was in excellent condition & recently reparked. Yes, their description prepares you for problems in/under the finish, but it will alway be serviceable.

I ordered a stripped Winchester M1icon carbine receiver which they said "might" have an unserviceable barrel attached, & it did. It was an original Winchester barrel, & the finish on both the receiver & barrel were original. Too bad the barrel was bulged.....

You might be able to have the bulge swaged out. I had a scarce Bolo Broomhandle Mauser with a bulge, sold it to an advanced collector who swaged it out --- you couldn't tell it was ever bulged.

Yes I saw them first hand at the South Store and they are nice. Most were fine, strong stamps, Some had some very mild pitting below the wood line. All Springfield and were 6 digit on up to post war. I think they are worth the $195.

+1 to the previous post I looked through 2 crates at the north store the first week they were out (believe they said they had 5 crates) by the time I was half way through the one crate I had a half dozen set aside. Needless to say I tighten the group and walked away with 2 - a 6 digit and 1.6 million Very little pitting visable below the wood line. Could have easily been a SGS. Infact Jim behind the counter said they had way more than the build requirements that was why they were available
