Claven2 - no Danish crown, just the unit mark on the frame. It was an impulse buy (aren't they all), a bit out of the focus of this collection - but being a Browning design, I thought it was relevant (besides, I always wanted one :D )
Thanks bearhunter, its a basic start - I only got into HPs recently - there are many more (and nicer) examples I'd like to have, and the accessories are interesting and fun to collect themselves.

That's a really nice collection of HP's. Can milsurp be sexy? Care to tell a bit more about the "teflon finish" Belgian Inglis?

In 1950, the Belguins were rebuilding thier country and, of course, thier military. Canada was looking to dispose of some excess war stocks so both countrys took advantage of the "Defense Appropriation Act of 1950" - a NATO agreement which allowed member countrys to dispose of older war materials and basically upgrade. The Belguins were happy to recieve the Inglis - a direct (although in Imperial measure rather than metric) copy of thier pre-war issue sidearm, and Canada used the opportunity to get rid of some of the Chinese contract stock (Canada prefered the No2 pistol).
Belguim got rid of most of these on the surplus market in the '80s, although some were issued to thier para-military police force who got another 15 or so years out of them - these were also surplused.
The grey, teflon finish was applied to some,but not all, of the Inglis pistols (as well as Brens,Stens, Garands,M1 carbines (and Joe Salter even has an Enfield revolver in teflon! http://www.joesalter.com/detail.php?f_qryitem=1436 ) while undergoing arsenal refurbishment.
The Belguim Inglis was issued with two numbered Mags - alas, my gun only came with the one :(
I believe quite a few of these guns made it back to Canada, but probably got tucked away and thats why they aren't commonly seen.

The first handgun I got No2 Mk1* does not have the decal but other than that it's in real good shape.
