    Need help on elevation drum on a M1 garand

    The tab on the inside of the elevation drum has worn down and rear sight will not hold. marks are NHC. What do I do. witch maker makes the the best for that?

    Unless you can find someone to replace the drum on the pinion, you will have to buy the pinion w/drum. I assume you have tried tightening the windage screw.

    Almost every M-1 I have needs to have the windage screw tightened up from time to time. You should ALWAYS do this before a match. If you can adjust the sight without too much effort, and cannot depress the sight by putting your thumb on the aperture and pressing down with say 5-10 lbs. force, you are good to go. If it will not hold you will have to follow Devil Dog's advice.

    I have tried tightening the windage screw and it will not hold elevation

    You can find good used ones for $20-25 .

    If you find the replacement drum, I have the tools to change it out. let me know
