A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. HERE is one simple method.

Oy vey, don't touch the front sight unless all else fails! Mr. Garand intended all adjustments to be made with the rear sight, that's why the sight seal was installed. Start at 9 clicks of elevation, zero windage. Fire a group. Use the elevation and windage knobs to move the center of the group to the 6:00 o'clock edge of the bull. That's your 200 yard battlesight zero. All M1icon's need this, and it's simple, every recruit is taught how to do it in Basic Training. When you find your settings, stick a small piece of masking tape on the inside of the butt trap door with the numbers, like U 10 (up 10 clicks from the bottom) R2 (two clicks of right windage). That's your personal setting. It will be different for another shooter with the same rifle.
