My Semi-Long tutorial for anyone else that needs help to get a avatar image they have on the computer to the site:
First Go to http://www.photobucket.com
"Register" or "Join Now". After you do this you will get this screen:
375
Make a user name and put in a password that is over 5 characters. Also they added "ease of use" features that tell you if the user name is taken as you type it now.
On this screen input all the desired information and make sure you put in the code right. Its small the code its not that "friendly" to people with glasses. And they also added little bubbles to the right side of the screen (I cropped them off) to help you step by step.
377
Once you do that it will automatically log you in your account so you can use it right away. You will see this screen:
380
This screen will let you upload up to 3 pictures at a time.
The video will let you update a 5 minute (max 100Mb) video.
The web url will let you "Right Click -> Copy Image Location" then paste it into the field to save a copy to your photobucket account. If using Internet Explorer do "Right Click -> Properties" and copy the URL that it shows that ends in .jpg etc.
And the Mobile Phone screen gives you a email you can email from your phone things directly into your photobucket account.
At this screen click browse and find the picture you wish to upload as so:
376
Then after you click "Submit" it will upload it for you and you will get this box at the bottom one for each picture you have uploaded:
379
You will note there are 3 boxes:
The "URL" is what you will use to load the picture as a Avatar.
The "Tag" is what you need if your editing a webpage in HTML.
The "Img" is what you need to post a picture in a message on this site for example or most other sites that use UBB or similar Message board codes.
If the picture is too big to be easily displayed on a web forum you can click the edit button and you'll get this screen:
378
Just click on resize and you'll get a list of options and pick the appropriate one:
Avatar (100 x 75)
Thumbnail (160 X 120)
Website, Email (320 X 240)
Message Board (640 X 480)
If its not showing one of these options its because Photobucket only resizes the pictures down so the picture is already smaller!
Also note if your picture is sideways or upside down etc there is the rotate feature to allow you to change it so its the right way for people viewing on the computer screen if you do not have photo editing software to do that.
The share feature allows you to input your username/email and password and send it to one of the many different types of personal websites like Myspace, Simply Emailing it, Facebook, Xanga, Live Journal, Blogger, Friendster, Piczo, Tagged, Greatest Journal, Type Pad, and Dead Journal.
Now you have uploaded and you know what link to use. Remember copy the whole thing in the URL/TAG/IMG box its not all shown.
