Brock's Arms sale for GERMAN GEWEHR 98 RIFLE, DANZIG 1916

Seller Says:

$1,299.99 U.S.

GERMAN GEWEHR 98 RIFLE, DANZIG 1916

Field repaired rifle with a new replacement stock and cannibalized bayonet lug. All other numbered parts match and none have been renumbered. The stock is walnut and has absolutely no markings inside or out except a crown over letter on the pistol grip--no serial numbers or acceptance marks on the side of the butt. Buttplate has an imperial acceptance mark, but serial not visible (has some heavy rust on buttplate). The takedown discs in the butt appear to be field installed. Firing pin matching and tip intact. Correct type stacking rod. Average plus condition for a WW1 German service rifle---most were used hard and damaged and repaired in the field at one time or another. A good representative piece.

CONDITION: Good plus. Fine pitting on receiver and front band, blue finish has almost all turned brown. Buttplate pitted. Bore slightly dark with sharp rifling.

Certificate of Authenticity Included
