A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Very interesting and lets hope more like this show up on this site.

I was in France (I think) a few years ago and went into a "museum" where I believe the last piece of the Britishicon Trench was preserved and many artifacts including glass slides of the battlefield were able to be viewed.

I can't remember exactly where it was and hopefully someone on this site will post where it is. I looked at dozens of slides and there were hundreds but time was against me and I had to continue my journey with the three friends I was with.

Some of the slides/stereo cards were amazing including one of a horse hanging in a tree obvously from a artillery strike nearby.

The "museum" was privately owned and if I remember correctly had a "pub" attached, possibly I am mistaken on the "pub" aspect as we did visit a few pubs that day!

    Well here is the update.

Just talked to my friend Peter who arranged the entire trip and it was a pub but near Ypres in Belgiumicon, told you we did visit a few pubs that day. It has some of the last Allied trench system intact and wll worth visiting if you ever get there. Lots of artifacts and as I said hundreds of photos/glass slides etc. Admission was quite reasonable and the food in the pub was very good...so was the beer.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
