Historic WWII Army Air Corps Singer Grouping and FREE Open House at www.m1911info.com

For any concerned members, I've cleared this announcement with Doug (Badger), our fine Moderator here on this board. Thank you, Doug.

It's difficult to believe it's been a year since launching M1911info.com > Home
. When we launched the site, we had about 1100 images of roughly 200 handguns in the Gallery. Over the last year, I've added approximately 2000 additional images and we now show 300+/- collectible handguns, of which about 230 are M1911, M1911A1 and vintage Colt Government Model pistols. There are several other USGI handguns shown, too.

On Friday, August 12, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, we will be hosting a FREE!!!! Open House at our site which will allow full access to the Gallery and all the images and information shown there. For security reasons, the only requirement is that the user must Register as a member with a valid e-mail address, and must agree to the web site Terms of Use. Those are the first two steps to becoming a Subscriber at the site...Step 1 Register...Step 2 Agree to the Terms of Use. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO COMPLETE STEP 3, (SUBSCRIBE)!!! Just ignore it and go on to click Gallery! This is a totally free offer to visit the site Gallery for 4 hours and see what's there.

Here is a little preview. These are just a few of the 51 images shown of an outstanding Singer grouping I acquired earlier this year. That grouping includes the pistol, 2 original Singer magazines, the AAF pilot's pistol rig, goggles, skull caps, full dress uniform, A-2 and b-3 flight jackets, numerous pieces of identification, other issued gear and many personal effects. I grouped many items together for photos, and it still took about 50 images. also included is a letter by noted author Charles W. Clawson, who states the pistol is entirely original and rates 97%. That was added icing on the cake.

Several of the items in the grouping were provided by the son of the WWII Army Air Force pilot (a Viet Nam War U.S. military pilot, himself) AFTER the pistol sold at auction in 2004. I even have the box with the U.S.iconshipping label from the son, who bears the same name as his father William Clippinger. The son wanted all of his dad's issued items and personal effects from WWII to be kept with the pistol rig. That was a very kind and gracious gift!

So, here are a few preview images. Please go to my web site for more information about the FREE Open House. Thanks.
