ross rifle,very good bore,bright shiny,no pitting on metal,nice wood,missing cross bolt on stock?,rear sling swivel,butt plate cover,bolt 45xx, only # on metal,need ffl,curio,money order,buyer to pay shipping.as always you must have a gunsmith look it over before firing.

The missing parts are easily found. Good price on that rifle for an auction IMHO :)

He doesn't show the area just to the rear of the trigger guard, which is where the US marks would be if the rifle is one of the 20 000 that went to the US in 1917. A II*** Ross in the US is most likely going to be one of the training rifles. Opening at $425 is reasonable enough, of course where it goes from there is anyone's guess. I know that US surcharged II*** rifles have sold for somewhat more than that in the States.

that's exactly what I was thinking. most of the II***'s I've laid eyes on south of the border HAVE been US marked though. The US collectors drive up the price, though a non-US marked rifle is likely rarer in that market - but doesn't bring near as much money.

Many of the US Rosses were sold for a pittance through the NRA in the early '20s.
