Repro No32 scopes and parts at Sarco

I see Sarco's online catalog is now showing No32 scope sets, quite a nice set, for a repro T. Between them and Numrich there's been No32 Mk1 and No32 Mk2's, on occasion, finally they might get around to doing the no32 mk3 like I always thought they should.

Sarco, Inc. - No. 32 MKI Telescope

They seem to be a well thought out, but whats the low down on not being able to adjust them down for short ranges? I've heard they won't adjust under 300 yards?

Wow do you have any idea on the quality of these little gems or are they the Chinese type copy that you cant adjust. Can you or any one else shed some light!

We do have older discussion threads here but since then these Mk2's have been coming along. I'm going to bring them up with a search now.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would go to the trouble of making all this great stuff and not make it adjust properly, beyond reason.

Don't know about the Sarco repros but there are no adjustment limits on the Numrich Mk.II repros. There's also been some speculation about what the click values are on these, on the Numrich repro I have they are of the Mk.I 50yd increment variety. I got this repro in Dec.2010 to top off a repro 4T I built, since then I've managed to get hold of a couple genuine No.32's, a Kershaw Mk.II and a H.B.M.co Mk.I so I did a performance comparison of the three. Each one was mounted on an genuine No.4 T and zero'd @100 yds with Mk.VII ammo. The ammo supply was limited so I only fired 5 rounds at each target 100 to 300 yds away in a varying order, a total of 40 rds per scope. I was somewhat surprised when the repro proved to be just as precise and repeatable as the two originals although it has a bit of backlash in the ranging adjustment. To be fair I should mention the repro isn't like I recieved it from Numrich, I sent it off to a friend in Canadaicon to be ''tarted up'' as he puts it. With a bit of work they can be quite good performers.

WARREN, if you're out there, going back over old posts on these repo's, you were doing tests on the optic's.
    What were the results?

Mufett: The lenses are not reproductions of the No32 scope lenses, but are excellent quality lenses. I ran them on my optical bench and focimeter and they are very consistent (to each other). The lenses are very close to the Israeli 32 scope which I hope to be doing a short treatise on shortly. I just got a note from a chum in Tel Aviv and the story is getting more and more interesting.
IF you or anyone does need some new made replacement Mk.1 lenses let me know. I had a small run done offshore and they are excellent and are drop in quality for buggered Mk.1 lenses. The lenses are coated and of top quality. Drop me a private email for more info.
I do apologize for the hiatus in communications with everyone however a few health problems have really tossed a money wrench into my life. Just got out of the hospital from pneumonia and have more tests for a recurrence of the " Big C" but I will beat it again, as I did before. I've never had a year like this (health wise) before and hope I never have one again
On top of the scopes I have about 2000 plates of Bren Gun records what were found in the archives and "somehow made it here". Apparently is is two rolls of fiche info that has never surfaced before but I have to take it to the university and use the micro fiche reader to view it.
How do people die of boredom?????

Repro No.32 scope from Kambee Keep

I just received a No.32 scope from these guys. It's a $100 cheaper than sarco or gun parts. Thier are no marking on it at all (makes collectors happy) and ther is a sliding metal sun shade on the back. The glass looks very nice.

I've only ever seen a couple of these recent copies but to be honest, if you've made up or are going to do so, a No4 sniper that I wrote up about some months ago, this is a good start. Maybe not for the purist of course but for us other mere mortals...................
