    Now that's a bargain!

Wow, a genuine ENFIELD 303 BRIT EMPIRE 1895-1957 NO1 MK 11 PNG, and with a Buy It Now price of only $1,100.00. Be still, my beating heart, where did I put the check book?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Interesting that it is listed in the "Antiques / pre-1899" category, too! Must be a very, very early trials No.IV. A special item indeed, worthy of such a price.

The seller hasn't called it a No.1 Mk.II (Mark Two), he has used two ones which makes it a Mark Eleven.

In fact it is neither - even if there was such as thing as a No.1 Mk.11. It looks like a scruffy old No.4 to me.
