scout scope mount for no1 mk3?

Does anyone remember who made or makes those 'scout' scope mounts for the no1 mk3 that attaches in place of the rear sight leaf? I haven't seen them around for a while. I though they were a real cheesy idea, that is until I saw the ww2 german sniper with the same set up and a couple of gold stars for being a good rifle, go figa ... , and lol don't worry, I'm not buying one, just researching stuff, cheers rjwnz

here's something to look at as a reward, a $7k rifle sold at auction last year in the us, G 41 + ZF40 scope, repro mount, I foudn it on google images

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I've never found an aftermarket scope base for an SMLE that's worth a damn. I gave up selling them a few years ago. I had an S&K shear off once because the little aluminum plate that fits in the charger bridge had to be filed so thin to make it fit that it just let go after three rounds. A scout base made for the rear sight base with a long eye relief scope would be OK I guess but I don't know that anyone has ever designed one for the SMLE.
