    Seeking barrel makers

I've got a friend seeking a replacement barrel for his No4 and we were wondering who the barrel makers are these days who could supply a stock profile or target type of barrel for enfields. I like Tru flite but their stainless steel target barrel isn't set to take a stock front sight.
Any barrel makers that you've been happy with, USAicon or other?
    thanks

PS, left field query, I'm researching something, a product called Accu Trak or similar. Its a bar of steel that is clamped along side the rifle barrel to stiffen it and improve harmonics. I wrote a few notes down 6 months ago but a search on the internet brings up nothing like it.Does anyone recognize that and what its real name is?

    thanks R

MAB or total solutions engineering in QLD Australiaicon can make you a new barrell in standard No4 profile. They dont have the bayonet lugs but a simple operation of boring and sleeving and you have them on. they will do it in chrome moly or stainless. In fact they can do any profile or length barrell you like, very good to talk to. Might be on the high side of cost but they have the reputation.
    cheers

There is a fellow down in Wellington who makes barrels, he has made new ones for many different milsurp rifles. I'm sure there are barrelmakers in Akl too, I know an apprenice gunsmith up there. i bet his boss could do it.

    Roger,

For reasonable price, quality and service, I recommend, Lothar Walther, for a non standard profile, I know someone is getting the No4 barrels made from walther, think Fultons got a run of them or they bought from another dealer, Thunderbox may be have more info on this.

I noticed an advert in the UKicon NRA magazine the other day (dont have it to hand), No4 barrels for £260 am sure they were new ones and not old stock.

Just on the subject of barrels, a guy in our club was looking for a No4 Rifle, I told him I had a few (They were priced under the above price of a barrel) he thought he would get cheaper at an auction so off he went and comeback with a nice looking No4, but couldnt hit a barn door, yep barrel was shot out, failed headspace etc....., I did warn him, (and others) but it seems to fall on deaf ears most of the time, its then they want to trade...... I do get strange looks when I offer them a scrap price.
