I just found the funnest Lee Enfield video

Lee Emery with a springfield, and a pom with a No1 MK3, in a race to break 20 plates, complete with slo mo enough to see the bullets in flight, I loaded it onto the front page of enfield resource, just scroll down to the lower half, good fun, even if Emery had to end up cheating.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Haven't had a fresh look, but if it's the vid I watched a while back, the operator with the No1 needs some basic instruction... so unco he couldn't beat time with a stick!

It would be worth it just to see Ermey pee himself...

OK, not exactly a constructive comment, but I bet I'm not the only one...

Not sure about Ermey's comment in regards to the 30/06 being the first smokeless round, i am very sure it was the Frenchicon with their "Poudre B" in the Lebel round that came first.

Funny though, that they didn't show the final results - as they walked away you could just glimpse the remaining plates and the enfield was only 2 or 3 behind.

Great video, thanks for posting. I agree someone with more "time" on a No1 would be smoother and faster. Regardless of the outcome Ermey is correct in saying the Garandicon is a great rifle, the problem he has is the No1 is a better rifle.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

And I sort of wish the English chap was not wearing a very badly shaped Austalian Army Slouch hat as his shooting hat.

As an Aussie it sends the wrong message about how we have used the SMLE don't you know

I saw one of these video's where that wild old colonial in the IQ reducer cap was telling us in the civilised world that the BAR was better than the Bren. Someone needs to give him a stiff talking to................ Something better than a Bren....... I should coco!

If I hear that again, I'll get send a gunboat over there and take the Americas back. That'll teach them a lesson!
