    Recent Acquisition - No. 1 Mk V

Just finalised purchase of an all Matching No.1 Mk.V 1922 serial number 4532.

    I'm excited.

Can only post a low resolution "tease" pic at this stage.

Hopefully the transfer will occur over the next few weeks and then I will be able to post a comprehensive set of images.

    Happy Days

    Paul

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. gee why would you be happy?!!!!
I can't wait to see it in the flesh either!!!
or maybe sight it in for you!!
A real gem, and one of a very very few in Australiaicon, i would hazard a guess as to it being one of the rarest models in Australia.
    Anyway a top notch purchase!!!

    Cheers

    Thanks Ned.

Angus should be taking the rifle to Darwin tomorrow, so hopefully it should arrive in Bunbury towards the end of the week.

With a bit of luck, it may only take a few months (!!!) to get it on my license to that we can get it down the range and see how it shoots.

Might have to be a bit gentle, it will be turning 90 this year. (Same age as Betty White from the Golden Girls)

I just wish that a No1 Mk5 collector/enthusiast would come to Warminster and do a detailed study of a few untouched ones. We have the 22/- (shilling) new-build version and the 18/- Mk3 and 3* conversion plus the associated paperwork. When I'm gone, these open house invitation facilities will go too. Banging my head against a brick wall I fear...............
