Be aware, those of us that watched at a distance, are also glad you made it.

We know that all to well, and are very thankful.

Just a bit more comradery with those that trudged through the same dirt.

Thank you guys for your service to this country and thanks to those who served their respective countries as well. Your struggle is the reason the rest of us have less of a struggle.

Salt tablets, quinine pills, red clay dust, the smells, waiting for rotation. Now the effects of aging are beginning to exact another toll.

Great you guys served and sad you were not given the credit for what you did. My son told me this evening that somewhere in the US they had a "Welcome Home Vietnam Vets" parade today. Apparently the town wanted to show the respect you deserved.

To me it seems like it was yesterday as I was accepted into the USMC (1962) and it all fell apart over my not wanting to give up my Canadianicon citizenship.... it's a long story. So often I have wondered...what if?

You were brave soldiers doing a job you were sent to do.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I find myself at my own anniversary, it was 38 years ago today I joined the army. Scary part is, if I hadn't got out, I'd still be in!

Parade.....40 years after.....to late for to many, 10s of thousands if not more dead of old age and pick some disease, for me I don't give a rats rear end anymore. But thanks for the thanks. Yes we were "sent" to do the job the country wanted done then abandened like a unwanted Ba$tard. All the more reason to make sure the same im-moral treatment doesnt happen to the ones that have been and are doing the job they are being sent for "right now".

    Regards
    FTIII
