A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Well, the only hint I got from your post was the "cheers". You're talking Newark in the UKicon, not New Jersey USAicon?

I'll be there with a few rifles. For UKicon HBSA-ers/LERA types, "Smith Arms" will be there with a range of historic military firearms.

Yep Newark UK. I thought "Britishicon Shooting Show" might have been enough of a clue

    Cheers,

    Simon.

Perhaps they habitually shoot Brits in Newark, NJ?

Went a couple of years ago and apart from Thunderbox's stand there was only a couple or three Enfields to be seen.

The show is huge (by UKicon Shooting standards) and had to wait in line for about an hour to get in.
There are only so many variations of green wellies and waxed jackets and after three or four halls of them you give up the will to live

    Never again.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I'll be there on Saturday. I think the 'classic' arms area has grown in the last few years and it's nice hunting for and sorting through the odd vintage rifle on the more general dealers' racks too. I found my all matching 1917 SSA SMLE there last year, in amongst much more modern stuff on a dealer's rack.

(Certainly needed wellies last year - I think poor 'SmithArms' awoke to find WW1 conditions of standing water on his dealer floor!)

    All the best

    Mike

I understand that, this year, we are all in one enormous marquee, and that there are quite a few more firearms stands grouped together.

They could do with cutting out about 50% of the (made in China) "English country clothing" stands, though.....

Bollocks! I must have been half asleep thinking it was anywhere but the UKicon.

And no, they don't habitually shoot Brits in Newark, NJ, they habitually shoot everybody in Newark...

I'll be manning the "Lovat Societies" display of Sniping weapons.

Say hello if you're in the neighborhood you never know there may be spare beer or two on offer for the price of donation to Help for Heroes.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

P.S. I'm no longer the Lard Arse in my profile pic
