There was at least one batch of RFI rebuilt No. 4 rifles brought into the country. There were also No. 5s. If you are looking for these variants, specimens will turn up sooner or later.
Mk. V rifles are uncommon.

I had a m/m RFI No4MkI* a few years ago. I believe it was an 1980s FR.

I think I finally decided it was a Savage originally.

The one in your auction appears to have originally been a Long Branch.

Joe Salter has a RFI "wiped" F(T)R No4MkI(T) on his web-site for WAY too much money.

All RFI No.4 rifles are rebuilt rifles made by Britain or one of the two North American manufacturers. RFI scrubbed and remarked the barelled receivers and sometimes even restocked them, but they are not RFI made.

The DND also has recently (past 2 years or so) brought in ex-Indian #4s to be issued to the Rangers. I forget the numbers, but it was aither 800 or 1200 going in to Edmonton depots stock.

Boy i sure hope they are refurbishing some of those Indian issued No.4's in Edmonton - the ones I saw on US sites looked like they'd seen a few miles... and then some.
