Hey guys,
I've managed to pick myself up a set of #4 bases, the cheekpiece (from Fultons in Bisley for both items) and I'm thinking on getting myself a scope-mount repro from Sarco for my project.
Can anyone speak as to how well they work, and can anyone provide guidance as to the best way to install the pads?
Many thanks,
NS

I believe there's another thread on the Sarco mounts here:
New Sarco No 4 Mk I T scope mount (click here) (http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=2807)
In that thread, I commented as follows:
I have heard (and read) on other boards that some people have had zeroing and alignment issues with these mounts, but I have to say our own personal experience was positive and we had no problems. Perhaps we were just fortunate with the particular No.4(T)'s she's mounted them on.
~Angel~ uses them her No.4(T)'s that didn't come with their own matched No.32 scope, or at other times, simply to put a more powerful scope on any of her No.4(T)'s to see how well they shoot with better glass.
They install easily and work well, plus zeroed without any problems at all. She shot as accurately with it and the Weaver 4x, as she does with any of the actual period No.32 Mk1 or Mk3 scopes. I understand that there's also one that looks similar and its manufactured in India, as is the one from Sarco.

You can save $25 by buying it from IMA. Their price is 124.95. I'm pretty sure it is the same manufacturer.

Check first, as the IMA units may be from a different source than the Sarco units....
Here's the listing from Sarco's site (click here) (http://www.sarcoinc.com/)
Enfield # 4 MKIT Sniper Scope Mounts - We have been out of stock for a year now - We expect an air shipment in the end of October or early November. Backorders will be shipped first. Telescope mounts for the British Enfield # 4 MK I (T) Sniper Rifle. We made these because there are so many # 4 MK I (T)'s that were imported without scopes. The good news - These mounts will take a standard commercial tube scope to use on your rifle while you are seeking an original scope for the rifle. Made to meticulous detail to the original as we have with all our reproduction scope mounts. Sold at a very special price considering the rarity and value of an original mount... $149.95 each. (Note - does not include scope or receiver pads.)

Well, I don't know anything about the IMA one. I purchased the Sarco one 2 years ago and I've been happy with it .. :)

You could also have a look at these ones listed on of all places eBay (item #.260272456756) I haven’t used any of the repro mounts but if this guys description can be believed they should be fairly good.
Lee Enfield No. 4T Sniper Scope Mount - (eBay.ca item 260272456756 end time 14-Aug-08 21:44:04 EDT) (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Lee-Enfield-No-4T-Sniper-Scope-Mount_W0QQitemZ260272456756QQihZ016QQcategoryZ4074 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Well,
I just got in 2 of the Sarco mounts, and am quite pleased with the looks of them.
I have to get the mill setup before I go ahead with installing them, but life is good!

Well,
My path has taken a different route.
The package (pads, bracket, cheek piece, and a set of transit chest hardware) are now up for grabs on CGN ($450 asking...make me an offer on the lot)
I'll post up pics of why I've gone a different path shortly....
