Went to the range late in the afternoon.
As light was not going to stay long, I set a Midway pistol target
http://www.midwayusa.com/midwayusa/staticpages/pdf/targets/pistol_target.pdf
up at the 50 yards mark and proceeded with two five-rounds volleys.

I had previously unscrewed the front post by about 1/16" to lower the zero a tad.

When I looked in my spotting scope, I saw this; guess I'll wait for a good sunlit day and try the 100 yards target now! :dancingbanana:
Yes, I know: I tacked my target upside down...

Looking good! I'll bet the sights are the limiting factor at 100 yards.

About the same as a good ol' SKS, only easier to drift because there's a screw for windage adjustment instead of a drifting punch or pusher tool. Fine elevation adjustment is done the same as a SKS by screwing the front post in or out.
If one takes care to focus on the front sight, it is easier to shoot due to the very smooth trigger, derived from the Ljungman. Recoil is about the same, maybe more in line with shoulder.
I'll use a 6" diameter black circle at 100 yards with a 6 o'clock hold.

That's excellent PP. Post the 100m when you get a chance.

I'll see if i can do it this week. I have a batch of target holders and bases to haul at the shooting range tomorrow.
I guess I'll give it a try if the weather's right.
I'm using "Golden Tiger" russian ammo. Greenish tinge lackered steel case with a purple bullet sealing varnish and red sealing lacker at the primer. Brass cup primer.
Headstamp is 7,62x39 and a strange sign like a rounded capital "R".
Manufacturer is Vympel http://www.ak-47.us/JAFreeman/AK_ammo_identification.php
Smell is a bit acrid like some war surplus loads in 8mm Mauser, and fully enjoyable, thanks to the direct gas impingement system which equips the Rashid.
Listed as non-corrosive but I don't trust any ex-combloc ammo. I'd be curious to compare its performance to the now rarefying Silver Box Norinco ammo. If I get the chance, I'll try chronographing a 10 round sequence.

Where are you getting Golden Tiger? I have bought a case of Wolf last year that I lucked into private sale. Was good ammo. If russian 7.62x39 became available in Canada again, I'd be very interested in knowing where! :)

I'll ask my comrade (pun intended  ) where he got these. I think we bought the last three remaining cases in Québec :crying:
If I can find the source, I'll tell you.

Very nice grouping! Aren't you a little shy about firing a rifle with such a limited supply of parts? I recently bought one but am not sure if I am going to fire it or not, I don't know who carry's parts. I checked down at Sarcos and they had themselves a good laugh, hum-SDH

Here's a guy who has a good supply:

His last message said: "Have gas port/ front sight combo tools. A much needed tool for your Rasheed, $17.50 each.. Machined from solid steel.. jb"
Good luck!
