I just bought this rifle, checked it out and researched it. I found the Mum intact, the serial matches on the receiver, extractor, bolt, safety and firing pin- couldn't find others. The research I did indicates that it is from the Toyo Kogyo arsenal, Series 35. From the photos, am I correct? The serial number is 47172. Does anyone have a idea of year of manufacture? I figured it would be 1945 but not sure. The bore is very nice with strong rifling. Thanks, here's the pics

Yes, a series 35 by Toyo Kogyo. Late war production for sure. Called a last ditch rifle. Should have a fixed rear sight and wood butt plate.

The last ditch I have looks very much like this one of yours. They look near new. Mine has a ground mum :(

That's a very fine example of a late war arisaka. I have been looking for one myself lately in similar condition to add to my collection. Nice work on the photos, by the way. They are very clear and easy to read which is a refressing change from the usual blurry ones.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was kinda strange this one looked so prestine, best Mum I have ever seen. It does have the fixed sights and wood butt plate. Really nice finish and a bunch of places with cosmo still in them.
