Recently purchased a 1929 Ishevsk m91/30. The escutcheon plates are the pressed in type which I think were used on the later production stocks.

Im thinking of trying to find a "correct" stock based on year of production which I think featured the 2 screw per plate.

Thoughts...or should I just shoot the darn thing????

Its a Mosin and they are very plentiful at this point in time, but maybe someday way down the road they will be worth something. I love to shoot mine and I would advise you to not worry about the correct stock at this point and just enjoy it for what it is. Just my opinion though.

Do what I did pick up late war refurbs in early stocks and swap them. It was quicker and cheaper the the auction sites and I sold off the unwanted guns easily once I took what I needed.
