This one is not too many numbers off your pistol. The blued 1911A1 pistols ranks right at the top of my favorite pistols.

This one was bought before the days of the internet and digital photographs. When it came in it had a beautiful set of 28 row Colt wood grips. I immediately called the seller to ask about the grips, and sure enough it had a set of the hollow back Coltwood grips originally, but he thought they were wrong and changed them out.

Absolutely gorgeous JP, thanks for sharing. They are among my all time favorites too. Interesting story about the grips and thank goodness the owner still had them.

I never tire of looking at these. Just not enough to go around.

Let me know if you're interested in parting with it. I pay crazy money for blued 1911A1's. Thanks.

Notation indicates it was from Jim R. collection when pictured at Sam Liskers. It is somewhat amazing that the grouping stayed together. The receiver shows an attempt by some Bubba to remove the slide stop by prying it out.
