:sos:I am relatively new to this forum and was hoping to get some information about my latest purchase. I bought an ak-47 and I am wanting to get more information about it...it has the following information of the left side of the receiver....(no photo yet) Empty Triangle 1981S-AK1028

bottom of the receiver it has the following: (see attached photo)

Ewbank Mfg
Winslow, AZ
EMAKM
7.62x39
serial number

There is also a Large "G" just under the rear sights on the left side of the rifle

from pictures I have seen on the internet it closely resembles the Romanian WASR-10 but I am a complete novice when it comes to AK's, I normally collect the Bolt-action mosin-nagant..but I was able to get this for only 200.00 so I couldn't pass it up...any info would be appreciated. I have found the Ewbank Website but can't tell if they actually built this rifle or just provided the receiver and some other U.S. parts....

Check out the new AK book; AK-47 Grim Reaper, it covers all of the original AK rifles AND the semi-autos too. 868 Pages!

Looks like a Romanian "G" parts kit built on a US receiver, to me. $200 is a steal.

The guys at the Gunboards.com AK/SKS forum could tell you for sure.

$200 for any AK that works is a great deal. Hopefully it's not a JoeKen build.
Check the ejector for peening. At $200 , it is possible that the parts kit less reciever would be salvagable and still a great deal even in the unlikely event that the gun fails to work.

A couple more good sources of reliable AK information:
The AK Forum (www.theakforum.net)
Click on the picture and then register to enter.

Another is the "Other Assault Rifles" section at m4carbine.net.
Templar and The_Kater are national treasures.
