100 years old and still looking pretty good.

This pistol, Colt M1911 s/n 16488, was shipped in the next to the last shipment of 1912, on 21 December to Springfield Armory. I've had this pistol a long time, but decided to shoot some detailed photos because it just turned 100 years old.

The pistol is still all original, has the Colt "dull" blue oven finish, which is actually quite brilliant. They just called it dull, because the previous "oil finish" oven blue was absolutely mirror-like. I took the time to shoot 46 really nice images of the pistol, including all the internals and featured it in the Gallery at my site.

Here are a few of those images.
